| Since my recent work on the crossbow and ancient projectile weapons
was issued,1 I have obtained additional information concerning
the catapult and balista of the Greeks and Romans. I now therefore, print,
in the form of and Appendix, a revised account of the construction of these
two engines. Their history and effects in warfare I have already dealt
with.
I also append a treatise fully describing the structure, power and management
of that remarkable weapon the Turkish composite bow, which I only cursorily
alluded to in my book on the crossbow etc.
